3rd Annual Acoustic Live Now Accepting Submissions!
by Anonymous

May 27, 2004 -- TLAMS Entertainment Services is now taking submissions for the Third Annual Acoustic Live talent series, an “acoustic” battle of the bands / songwriting competition, presented by the LAmusicScene.com. 42 artists will be chosen by a submission panel of industry professionals to take part in the Acoustic Live competition. Industry professional judges will advance artists to the final Acoustic Live showcase, for a chance to win great prizes provided by Acoustic Live sponsors.

Acoustic Live is building a tradition of connecting emerging artists with industry professionals. Jaryd Burton recently signed a record and merchandising deal with Viastar Records after being discovered by Acoustic Live judge, Shiva Baum (A&R). Acoustic Live judge, Kia Kamran (Entertainment Lawyer), is now representing AL finalist, Jim Bianco. Nadine Zahr, signed a management/development deal with TLAMS Entertainment Services. Sara Barielles, was offered a publishing deal through Chrysalis. These are just a few of many opportunities created. Acoustic Live has been described as a “popular breeding ground for undiscovered talent.” – Shiva Baum (A&R Viastar Records)

Seth Schwartz, founder of Acoustic Live, commented that AL sets itself apart, “by finding submission panelists and judges that are industry professionals, working in the business, who are seeking talent, not just industry staples. It’s the best way to make a true connection, and this year, we’ll continue to build on that philosophy.” Past judges have included, Tyler Bacon (Position Music), James Cerreta (Chrysalis), Tom Morris (Hollywood Records), Ben Nachman (Bug Music), Carmen Rizzo (Producer), Matty Spindel (Producer/Engineer), James Mormile (Geffen), Taki Pappas (Clear Channel), and many others.

From submissions to showcases, AL is judged solely on one or more of the following: songwriting, originality, performance, and musicianship. Acoustic Live showcases are presented in a strictly acoustic format, putting the emphasis on the songwriting while leveling the playing field between solo artists and bands.

“Acoustic Live is a blast. It's the friendliest competition I've ever been a part of. One important thing - it's not a popularity contest. It really is judged on songwriting and performance. I don't know how they did it, but they found judges who were thoughtful and fair (I didn't win so my opinion on this counts).” Andy Creighton (.com), Artist.

Submissions are being accepted now through August 1st. Artists are encouraged to review official rules before submitting. Acoustic Live is open to all genres of music, artists and bands alike; submissions do not need to be acoustic. Submissions are $15 dollars and will be accepted via acousticlive.net and Sonicbids (.com).

Acoustic Live sponsors include: Larrivee Guitars (www.larrivee.com), 144 Studios (www.jag144.com), Sonicbids (www.sonicbids.com) and more TBA.
